Agatha Wanda Crallie died at North Mississippi Medical Center suddenly Saturday, June 22, 2024. She was born in Canton, Ohio to George and Ida Everett Burris during the Great Depression on September 29, 1930.

Best known by Granny, Agatha Wanda Crallie, was a unique spitfire. She didn’t “beat around the bush”, or watch her tongue to protect your feelings, she was direct and honest to a fault. Although her actions and verbal spouts were not said in malice, they oftentimes were interpreted that way, and Granny took no offense to anyone’s interpretation. Throughout Granny’s 93 years, she suffered a lot of adversity, admittedly some from her own doing. When her health began to decline recently, she moved to be closer with her family; she had endless energy and took great pride in keeping up with all the family laundry.

As grouchy as Granny was, she wholeheartedly loved her family; her children: Opal Jean, Rebecca Ann, David Owen, Deborah Sue, Gerald Rex, Barbara Lynn, and Shawn Hope; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She grew especially close with her grandsons Ethan, and Zach, and took a special interest in their children until her death.

She enjoyed spending time with the “babies” of each generation and her animals. She loved fiercely and those who were closest to her accepted her character flaws and loved her unconditionally. With Granny’s untimely death the family not only mourns her spunky personality, but also, they are not sure if they remember how to do their laundry.
