African American Neighborhoods of Florence: Canaan and Handy Hill

FLORENCE-Florence Arts and Museums and community members coordinated by Ms. Anita Smith Cobb are working to create a short film about the history of West Florence. The group is looking for photographs and items related to the history of the Canaan and Handy Hill neighborhoods of West Florence to use in the film.

If anyone would like to share items for this project, staff at Florence Arts and Museums will digitize the items and return to the owner. Items can be brought to: Kennedy-Douglass Art Center, 217 E.
