WASHINGTON D.C. — On Wednesday, March 20th, Congressman Robert Aderholt (AL-04) will host Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) Co-Chair Tim Thomas for a roundtable discussion/listening session on the ongoing opioid crisis impacting North Alabama and the nation as a whole. Mr. Thomas will be flying down from Washington to hear about the opioid epidemic in the 4th Congressional District, which some research has shown has the worst problem in the nation. In addition to Mr. Thomas, the roundtable will feature Dr. David Jones of Capstone Health, Ms. Lisa Bright, who created the Bright Foundation after her son’s death due to opioid addiction and Mr. Tony Riley of Tiffin Motorhomes for his perspective on how the crisis impacts employers and how they can also be involved in helping to end the crisis.
The roundtable is open to the news media and also the public and will be held at Northwest Shoals Community College Building 110 / Seminar Room 800 George Wallace Drive, Muscle Shoals, Alabama. The roundtable will be Wednesday, March20 at 12:30 PM.
