Adelia-Stanfill-1440789054Adelia Stanfill, age 86 of Jackson, TN passed away Saturday morning at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

She was born September 17, 1928 in Jackson, TN the daughter of the late Norman Barnes and Florence Victoria Hunt Barnes. She attended school at Malesus. She met Gene Stanfill in 1950 and they married on September 15, 1953 after a three year courtship. Next month they would have celebrated 65 years together. Adelia was a homemaker, a loving wife and mother. She loved cooking and she loved the Lord. She was a member of the Bemis Pentecostal Church for seven years then has been a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Lexington, TN for several years.

She is survived by her husband Gene Stanfill of Jackson; two daughters Sandra Vandiver and husband Bill of Henderson, Terri Webb and husband Ben of Jackson; 5 grandchildren Megan Houston, Ethan Cain, Jim Webb, Julie Webb and Amy Lancaster; 7 great grandchildren Melise Tennyson, Tripp Houston, Owen Webb, Blaine Webb, Clay Webb, Joshua Giannini, Blake Lancaster and Emma Kate Lancaster.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters Amelia Pierce and Mary Ann McNeal; a brother Norman Earl Barnes and a granddaughter Jeannie Michelle Wadley.
