Adam Brooks Young, March 13, 1994, to October 8, 2024, was born in Huntsville, Alabama, where he spent his entire life. He graduated from Virgil I. Grissom High School in 2013. Adam had a unique ability to make new friends everywhere, and he always showed a concern for people who might not fit in to typical social situations. He was a gamer who especially enjoyed vintage video games and role-playing games. Adam also enjoyed lively discussions about society and social issues. Adam was innocent, unconventional, and authentic.

Adam is survived by his father, David Young and partner, Gabriella Schlidt of Huntsville, Alabama; his mother, Carol Stephens; grandfather, William Stephens of Nashville, Tennessee; and sister, Kathryn Stephens.

Adam was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Jack and Jean Young and his maternal grandmother Shirley Stephens.

Adam is also remembered by aunts and uncles including Jim and Rita Young, Mark Young and Sally Bishop, Tim Young and Robin Rossie, and Karen Young and Lucinda Romero; also Laura Stephens, Paula Stephens, and Greg Stephens; all of whom loved him dearly and will miss him daily.

A memorial service with be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to the Autistic Self Advocacy Network or to the Land Trust of North Alabama.
