Mrs. Ada Belle Jackson Joyner Ada Belle Jackson Joyner was born in Neelyville, Mo. on November 8, 1925. She was the 2nd child of Juranda Turner and Fred Jackson. Ada was preceded in death by her parents, two sons (Thurman Wilson and Ronald Cooper); two daughters (Carol A. Brooks and Linda M. Sykes); three siblings (Leroy Jackson, Virginia Blue, and Wilbur Turner); and four grandchildren (Delores R. Brooks, Tiffany Dave, Yolanda Cooper, and Shawn King).

Ada confessed a hope in Christ and was a faithful member of Mt. Calvary Seventh Day Adventist Church in Huntsville, AL. Her leadership roles at Mt. Calvary included serving as Sabbath School Superintendent, Senior Ministries and Social/Hospitality leader.  She was part of the Mt. Calvary Hand Bell Choir, Senior Choir, and a Sponsor for Children, Youth and Education Ministries.  She also served as an Honorary Deaconess.

Ada completed and received her high school diploma from the Adult Night School in East. St Louis, IL.  She then went on to work for the Defense Communications Contract Office at Scott Air Force Base, IL where she retired after 30 plus years as a civil servant.

Ada was a sweet spirit who was adored by her family, friends, church members and just about any stranger that encountered her. Ada was a person of faith and lived a life serving others. She was committed to family, always making sure that they knew of her support to achieve their highest potential. She loved spending time in the kitchen making delicious meals for her family and friends to enjoy, especially during the holidays. Ada was known for her fashion sense and beautiful smile. Even on her worst days you would never have known it, she was always beautifully well put together.  Ada will be deeply missed by all who loved her, but she will never be forgotten.

On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, Ada peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Charles Cooper; one sister, Mrs. Fern Simmons; A very special niece, Marla D. Simmons (Responsible for overseeing all of her medical care as well as being her caregiver and enlisting help from other family members); her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and her church family and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 6, 2023, at the Mount Calvary Seventh-day Adventist Church (1201 Meadow Drive NW, Huntsville, AL 35816) with Pastor Willie Taylor officiating. Interment will be in the Oakwood Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Joyner will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.

Public viewing will be held from12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m., Thursday, October 5, 2023, and 8:30 until 9:00 a.m., Friday, October 6, 2023, at the Royal Funeral Home.
