FLORENCE – Students interested in taking ACT tests will be able to do so at the University of North Alabama East Campus beginning Feb. 6. The on-site testing had been suspended for the past year as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. UNA East Campus will be the new location for UNA Testing Services, which offers a variety of standardized educational tests, including SAT, GRE, MAT, and PRAXIS.

“Students registered for the ACT on Feb. 6 have been alerted to the new testing location via email from ACT Inc.,” said. Dr. Amber Paulk, Vice Provost, Academic Affairs and Dean of Graduate and Online Education. “At UNA East Campus, we can offer ACT and other testing in a way that meets all protocols for social distancing and other safety guidelines.

The University was last able to offer the ACT in-person in February of 2020. Because of safety precautions, the test will be administered in multiple rooms so that no more than 10 students at a time are in each room. Further, ACT has safety protocols in place that UNA will follow in administering the test, including the use of face coverings.

UNA East Campus is on Tune Avenue in Florence. This location will provide UNA Testing Services with opportunities for expansion.

“In the future, we hope to expand our testing services to include professional certification and licensure exams so that we are not only meeting the educational needs of our campus but also the employment needs of our community,” said Dr. Paulk.
