MONTGOMERY-In recognition of National Water Safety Month, Academy Sports + Outdoors presented $5,000 worth of life jackets to the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) to contribute to their water safety initiative, the life jacket loaner program. The 360 new life jackets are a tool to promote community safety while out on the water this summer.

ADCNR’s mission is to promote statewide stewardship and enjoyment of natural resources now and for and future generations. Through the life jacket loaner program, the public will be able to borrow Academy life jackets from loaner stations at select Alabama State Parks and from Conservation Enforcement Officers patrolling Alabama’s waterways.

This is the first year ADCNR will begin its life jacket loaner program. Academy Sports + Outdoors is proud to support a safe and active summer while encouraging Alabama families to have fun out there.
