Aaron Dudley Martin, 75, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at his home. He was born January 28, 1940, to George C. and Audrey Loden Martin. He was a member and deacon of Greenwood Baptist Church for many years. He worked for Day-Brite Lighting for 48 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and trapping. He loved the church and enjoyed singing in the choir and delivering meals at Christmas time.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 29, at the Greenwood Baptist Church with Bro. Gary O’Neal and Bro. Kelby Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Keyes Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Fulton is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Maxene Martin; two sons, Mark Anthony Martin (Tina) of St. Augustine, Fla., and Aaron Matthew Martin (Patte) of Clinton; one daughter, Mary Ann Sheffield of Fulton; one brother, George C. Martin, Jr. (Ruby) of Baldwyn; two sisters, Dorothy Stephens and Linda Rose (Raymond), both of Fulton; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Graham, Keith Adams, Erick Velasquez, Stan Rose, Kelly Martin, Brad Norris, Brent Norris, and Jason Dodson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Brown, Billy Sheffield, Roger Beachum, Jerry Stanley, Richard Gillentine, Marvin Little, Terry Roberts, Mike Tate, Dale Martin, Jim Johnson, and Wayne Thorn.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 28, and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, August 29, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton. The body will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greenwood Baptist Church.
