FLORENCE-The Florence Gas Department will simulate a natural gas explosion causing a mass casualty event to overwhelm the hospital. This imitation will involve a disgruntled former gas department employee stealing a department vehicle and being pursued by the Florence Police Department.

The driver will run through a stop sign located on Hermitage Drive and with an accelerated speed, hit the UNA North field house at Braly Stadium during a mock football game. A gas meter set will be damaged and blowing with a manufactured explosion and fire.

This mass casualty event will be classified as a Class 1 Emergency by the Florence Gas Department.
