James Edward Moore, 82, of Hernando, MS, formerly of Iuka, MS, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Methodist Hospital – Olive Branch. James was of the Christian faith and greatly enjoyed attending gospel singings and listening to gospel music and gospel quartets. He was a jack of all trades who knew a little about a lot. He liked to tinker with things and gardening. James liked to “keep the roads hot” with his traveling. He worked for Greyhound and as a Post Master for 15 years. He and his wife were both known for their servants hearts and were always giving to others, offering rides to those in need, and picking up and delivering food for the food banks. He is survived by his daughters, Tammy Hines and Phyllis Henson (Mike); his son, Terry Blythe (Cindy); his sister in law, Gaye Nell Williams; his grandchildren, Jennifer Palmertree, Jeffrey Palmertree (Danielle), Sarah Hines, and Jeremy Blythe; his great grandchildren, Holli Palmertree, Kaitlyn Palmertree, and Kinsleigh Blythe; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Nona M. Moore; his parents, James and Gladys Moore; his sister, Katherine Philbin; and his son in law, Anthony “Tony” Hines. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 5pm until 8pm, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS. Services are scheduled for Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 1pm, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, officiated by Bro. Bobby Johnson. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Church Cemetery.
