Waylon “Bozo” Hopkins

Waylon “Bozo” Hopkins, 84, of Moulton passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at his residence. A sunset graveside service will be at 6 p.m. on Monday, April 12 at Moulton Memory Gardens with Jerry Hopkins officiating.

Born on July 2, 1936 to the late Lawrence and Mabel Hollimon Hopkins, Waylon was a graduate of Mt. Hope High School. He was a member of Hickory Grove Presbyterian Church and he attended Full Gospel Holiness Tabernacle. Bozo enjoyed fishing, boating, cattle farming, and Smith Lake living. He and Sharlyne dated for 11 years before they married 37 years ago.

Survivors include his wife, Sharlyne Jones Hopkins; children, Shelia Terry (Billy), Greg Hopkins (Penny), and Don Hopkins (Kim); eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; brother, Jerry Hopkins; three nieces, one nephew, and his dog, Daisy Mae.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Eldridge Hopkins and Ray Hopkins; and sister, Shirley Roberson.

Pallbearers will be Greg Hopkins, Don Hopkins, Scott Terry, Rodney Hopkins, Thomas Hopkins, Stacy Givens, Tracy Givens, Jud Harville, and John Webb Harville. Honorary pallbearers are Heath Hopkins, Chase Hopkins, Blake Hopkins, Boone Pace, Brock Pace, Joey Harville, Landon Givens, and Kane Givens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hickory Grove Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund.
