Roscoe Moore Balentine – Obituary

Roscoe Mr. Roscoe Moore Balentine, 71 of Florence passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012. He was a native of Lauderdale County , a member of Jones Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, and a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local # 48.

   Visitation is today, December 31, 2012 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Lighthouse of Jesus Christ (Located on Co. Rd. 47 in St. Florian). Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the church with burial to follow in Balentine Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Jeff Street.

 

   Mr. Balentine is preceded in death by his parents, Titus and Myrtle Balentine, step-mother, Nettie Balentine, two brothers, Floyd and Marvin (Winnie) Balentine, two sisters, Lorraine Phillips and Virginia Baskins, and two step-sisters, Olene McCurry and Edith Young.

 

   He is survived by his wife, Annette his loving caretaker for 22 years, daughters, Robin Mitchell(Darriel), Melody Davis(Donny), LaShawn Parrish(Donny), and Kelli Tribble, step-sons, Chris, Derek, and Lance Weaver(Kim), siblings, John Lloyd and Chester, mother of his children, Frances Jones Depoyster,  grandchildren, Kandi Cooper(Zack), Morgan Mansell(Bo), Mark Davis, Levi Parrish, Madison Balentine, and Caragan Tribble, step-grandchildren, Brittney Dutton(Jason), Caleb Weaver, Brooke, Nikki, and Kaley Weaver, and six  great grandchildren.

 

   Pallbearers will be Jackie Phillips, Charlie Baskins, Glennis Simmons, Stacey Vickery, Steve Barkley, and Tony Stutts.

 

   Honorary pallbearers will include Sammy Faulkner, Larry Young, Robert Bain, Andy Akins, Travis Martin, Jesse Wright, Jason Wright, Sammy Balentine, and Sheet Metal Workers Local #48.
