MOULTON – The Echota Cherokee Tribe of Alabama held their 15th annual Pow Wow at Oakville Mounds just south of Moulton this past weekend. Native American Artisans had their crafts on display, there was story telling, dancing, drums and music.

Native American Culture is enjoying a renaissance in America, as descendants of the first Americans begin, more and more, to celebrate their roots. And the South, the native land to many different tribes, is a prime area of The United States, where gatherings are held to carry on a proud culture, and also to commemorate the past.

The Quad-Cities Daily was there to record some of the weekend in photographs.
