THE SHOALS-As a response to continued environmental degradation, Senator Gaylord Nelson proclaimed the first Earth Day on April 22, 1970. Communities around the nation and world have since used this occasion to promote environmental awareness and advocacy. For over forty years the Shoals has joined forces with others promoting eco-friendly practices.
Bring lawn chairs, picnic, family and friends!! This free, public event features kids activity tent, juggling,live Muscle Shoals Music, 3 performances by Rockin Eco Hero, STEVE TRASH, recycling drop off, document shredder, Earth friendly displays ,vendors, information on solar energy and electric cars, sustainable communities, organic gardening,vermiculture, herbs, yurts, speaker tent , and much more!
Come to Wilson Park for Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 4th from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. And the fun is always free.
