William Ervin ‘Bill’ Rayburn died Thursday, April 18, 2024 at his residence in Tupelo. He was 72 years old. He was born on April 20, 1951 to Shorty Rayburn and Hazel Cruise Rayburn in Lee County, Mississippi. He lived in the area his entire life, growing up in the Wheeler and Baldwyn areas, and most knew him as “Bill.” He was an extremely talented musician who built guitars from scratch. He was also a master handyman; he could do anything with his hands. His hobbies included cooking, gardening, fishing, and keeping his yard perfect. He loved his family but especially his grandkids.

A private family Graveside Service will be held at Tupelo Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday evening, April 22, 2024, from 5 PM to 7 PM at Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo. Bro. Billy Henderson will officiate. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to serve their friends.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Rayburn of Auburn; his daughters, Brandy Rayburn of California, Jeannie Senter of Auburn, and Heather Pannell of Auburn; grandchildren Austin Pannell, John Senter II, Bryce Giesken, Rhiannon Rayburn-Hess, and Harry Grayson IV; and several nieces and nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Shorty and Hazel Rayburn; his daughter, Marilyn Snipes; two brothers, Butch and James Rayburn, and one sister, Diane Rayburn.
