Herbert “Egypt” “June Bug” Elliott Jr was born on September 7, 1966, to Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Elliott Sr in Winchester, Tennessee and went home to be with the Lord on June 26, 2023. He is survived by his only son, Christopher Lee Elliott (Katasha) of Winchester. He also leaves to mourn seven grandchildren, Allisa, Malachi, Tali-Ana, Maylaysia, Ayana, Isaiah and Davion; one great-granddaughter; three step-children, Latoria, Michael, and David; two sisters, Gloria Holloway (Morris Rucker) and Diane King (George); cousin, Johnica Elliott; and a host of nieces and nephews along with a multitude of cousins. Jr was preceded in death by his mother, Oza Lee Sisk Elliott; father, Herbert Elliott Jr; brother, Lee Majors Elliott; and loving and devoted cousin who he greatly appreciated, Sandy Elliott. Jr was a graduate of Franklin County High School. He served his country in the United States Army in Korea. Jr worked a number of years as an apprentice bricklayer in our community. His work with Diversitech Plastics was very rewarding until his health began to decline. One fact that many may not have known was that Jr had the gift of a photographic memory. His talent of recall was mostly accurate. He was an avid history buff and enjoyed reading books. Visitation will be from 1-2pm on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will be at Farris Chapel Cemetery.
