Janice Marie Smith McCormick, age 72 of Winchester, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro. She was born on April 6, 1951, to the late Roy Verbon and Evon (Garner) Smith. She was a 1969 class graduate of Franklin County High School and attended Middle Tennessee State University. She met and married Larry in 1971. Janice retired from Ascend Federal Credit Union as a bank teller. In her spare time, you could find her watching American Idol, Jeopardy, attending a concert or listening to her favorite music. She was a faithful member of the Winchester Church of Christ. She will always be known as a beautiful wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to everyone who loved Janice. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Paul McCormick. Janice is survived by her loving son, Christopher Brian McCormick; daughter, Alison Marie McCormick; granddaughter, Alanna Marie Morris; special sister, Linda Kay Smith; sister and brother – in – law, Lyn (Dean) Jackson; and her sweet dog, Lola. Visitation for Janice will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2023, from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 2:00pm from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Joseph Horton officiating.
