Marvin Evans Underwood, Jr., 77, resident of Culleoka, died Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at NHC Lewisburg.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Larry Benderman and Donnie Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Wilkes Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.

Born March 3, 1945 in Giles County, he was the son of the late Marvin E. Underwood, Sr. and the late May Katherine Franklin Underwood. On July 14, 1972, he married Lois Isbell Underwood who preceded him in death December 31, 2010. Affectionately known as “the cookie man”, Mr. Underwood worked for 31 years as a salesman for Columbia Wholesale Food. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, working in his vegetable garden, and doing mechanic work. Mr. Underwood was a member of Culleoka Church of Christ.

Survivors include his twin sons, Evan Lane (Donovan) Underwood of Columbia; Kevin Shane (Charlotte) Underwood of Summertown; sisters, Dorothy Fay Hubbell of Southport; Bonnie Carol Hines of Culleoka; June Henson of Hollywood; Debbie Underwood of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Tristan Underwood, Zoie Underwood, Zander Underwood, LaCole Mast, Audreyanna Johns; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, David Underwood, Charles Edward Underwood; and sister, Donna Clifford.

Active pallbearers will be Tristan Underwood, Zander Underwood, Tony Henson, Roger Hamilton, Zachary Henson and Jerry McKee.
