COLBERT COUNTY-Get ready, Shoals area! 7 South, one of the hottest regional bands from the Arkansas Ozarks, is coming back to North Alabama in this month for a limited run of shows.

Known for their high-energy performances and unique sound, 7 South blends Country, Southern Rock, and modern hits with Southern Gospel influences. Their shows feature traditional instruments like steel guitar, mandolin, and fiddle, along with keys, bass, drums, and strong vocals that come together to create a fresh take on a wide range of music.

Catch 7 South live at the following local favorites:

  • Rattlesnake Saloon on Thursday, March 27 at 7 p.m.
  • Kingpin’s on Friday, March 28 at 8 p.m.
  • Champy’s on Saturday, March 29 at 7 p.m.

The band includes Mike Blocker (vocals, bass guitar), Anthony Kent (vocals, fiddle, mandolin, guitar), Drew Klenzar (drums), Jake Moore (keys), Walker Robinson (steel guitar), and Duane Hoppis (guitar, vocals).

One of their original songs, Wonderin’, written by Mike Blocker and recorded at Wishbone Studios in Muscle Shoals last spring, was a top three finalist for Song of the Year in the Country category at the 2024 Hollywood Independent Music Awards.

With nearly 75 shows performed last year and another busy tour schedule ahead, 7 South is excited to return to a place they consider a home away from home.

“The Shoals area, with all this music history and great people, is a favorite of the band,” said Blocker. “We look forward to being back.”
