Gloria Ramona Hunt McMillen Tapley, 92 of Fulton, passes away at NMMC in Tupelo. She was born on April 22, 1929 in Macon, GA to the late William Terrell Hunt and Ethel Elizabeth Jones Hunt. She graduated from Lincolnton High School and Mars Hill College in North Carolina.
She met the love of her life, T.L. “Mac” McMillen in the Air Force, and they were married on June 29, 1952. Along with her husband, Mac, she owned Mid South Fabrics in Fulton, MS for many years. She was the manager of the fabric department at Walmart. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She was a Christian lady who loved to tell you about Jesus. She never met a stranger, and it was always a joy to spend time with her and hear her stories. Her family will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her children, Sheri Wiggins (Steve), Sheila Duncan (Rick), Mark McMillen (Bertha), grandchildren, Zack Burdine (Lori), Hannah Burdine, Alisha Michael (Scotty), Josh Duncan (Mindy), Amos Burdine, Mary McMillen-Chisholm (Jamie), Katie McMillen, Teresa Reeves (Colin), great-grandchildren, Madison Michael, Hunter Michael, Kaed Mathson, Sienna Burdine, Grant Duncan, Julianne Duncan, Jemma Reeves, Ivy Reeves, sister-in-laws, Janet McMillen, Linda Hunt, Billie Hunt, numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents William Terrell Hunt and Ethel Elizabeth Jones Hunt, husband: T.L. “Mac” McMillen, brothers: William Hunt, Terry Hunt, and Tommy Hunt, sister: Rose Hunt.
A private family only service will be Saturday, September 18, 2021. Memorials can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
