Miranda H. Jett, 89, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at Northern Lakes Nursing Home in Angola. Born in Tuscumbia, Ala., Miranda worked as an Executive Secretary with Magnavox for 37 years, retiring in 1990. She enjoyed horses, trailriding, gardening and spending time with friends and family. Surviving are her daughters, Freda (Ron) Allan, of Angola, Ind., Marsha (Tim) Lassen, of Kernville, Calif., and Ginny (Pat) Hernicz, of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Chris Lassen, Craig Lassen, Kindra Watson and Jake Allan; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Earleen Zinaman, Rebecca Nail, Ruth Thompson, Ann Culberson and Dottie Malone; brothers, Denton Hester, Doug Hester, Wayne Hester, Glenn Hester, Tom Hester and Jack Hester; brother-in-law, Joe Jett. Miranda was preceded in death by husband, Louie F. Jett Jr.; sister, Martha Killian. Funeral service is Saturday, 2: p.m., Dec. 1, 2012, at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Reverend Max Hester is officiating. Calling will also be Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Ind.
