Funeral for William B. Baker, 86, of Danville will be Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Chesser and Rev. Jess Montegudo officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will be in New Friendship Cemetery. Mr. Baker, who died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, at Decatur Morgan Main, was born Oct. 24, 1929, in Alabama to James William Baker and Nolie Watkins Baker Waugh. Following retirement from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service, he worked as a draftsman at the Arsenal. He was a member of VFW Eagles, and he was also appointed as an honorary Cavalryman and workd for TARCOG Huntsville. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, James McKinley Waugh. He is survived by his wife, Hildegard Baker; two daughters, Lisa Shelton (Kenny) of Hartselle and Julie Dollar (Mark) of Hanover, Maryland; three grandchildren, Chelsea McClellan, Christina Shannon, Anna Beth Shelton; and three great-grandchildren, Austin, Hudson and Baker.
