Mary Louise “Grandma Weezie” Creel

weezieMary Louise “Grandma Weezie” Creel age 90 of Florence, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2015. Visitation will be Thursday, December 17, 2015, at Elkins East Chapel from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Services will be on Friday, December 18, 2015, 11:00am at Elkins East Chapel with Stan Dean officiating. Burial will follow at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Edward Creel Sr. Her parents Emeri and Margaret Valade. A brother Cecil Valade and a sister LaVerne Rios.

Louise is survived by three children. Chuck Creel (Trish) of Roxboro, NC. Linda Thompson of Rogersville, AL. And Donna Alexander (Mike) of Killen, AL. Seven grandchildren, Rachel Creel, Hannah Creel, Mellisa Williams (Joe), David Thompson (Allison), Ashley Grigsby (Josh), Matt Alexander (Jennifer), and Jay Alexander (Morgan). Eleven great-grandchildren, Haley Salis, Evyn Johnson, Grant, Molly and Abby Thompson; Tristen and Devon Grigsby; Zoey and Savannah Alexander; and Cruz and Millie Alexander. Two brothers, Cliff and Jack Valade. And three special friends; Willie Alexander “Maw maw”, Christine Phillips “Teeny”, and Lucille Gray “Granny Gray”.

She was a member of Killen Church of Christ. Louise attended school in Prince Albert Saskatchewan, Canada. On June 7, 1945 she moved from Canada to California, and on March 16, 1951, she became an American Citizen.

Pallbearers will be David Thompson, Matt Alexander, Jay Alexander, Adam Alexander, Robby Young, and Andy White.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Webb and the facility and staff of El Reposo Nursing Home for their love and care.
