Mr. Riccardo Jimmere Haley, 47, of Harvest, Alabama, formerly of Cherokee, Alabama, departed this life Sunday, March 1. He was born Nov. 17, 1967. Jimmere was a loving person and was loved by all that knew him. He was a child of God having confessed his faith and was a faithful member of New Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church where he was the president of the Steward board, a great Sunday school teacher, a member of the choir, and one of the pianists of the church.
He was a graduate of Cherokee Vocational High School and was active in various sports. Jimmere attended Alabama A&M University and graduated with a Bachelor degree in Computer Science. He was employed at Toyota Tosho where he took his job very serious.
Jimmere was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Thomas G. Haley, maternal grandparents, Mr. James and Mrs. Minnie Bell Poise Smith, mother-in-law, Mrs. Mary C. Robinson, and several aunts and uncles.
Jimmere leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Veronica Robinson Haley; two sons, Riccardo Jimmere Haley II and Jordan Amir Haley, and daughter, Alana Janae Haley, all of Harvest, Alabama; his mother, Elsie Smith Haley, Cherokee, Alabama; grandmother, Gladys Shelton, Huntsville, Alabama; sister, LaToni Haley, Cordova, Tennessee; foster sister, Deetra (Earl) Fitchard, Huntsville, Alabama; aunts, Elizabeth Smith, Cincinnati, Ohio, Donnie Thompson, Merdianville, Alabama, Linda Cannon, Sheffield, Alabama, Patsy (LC) McCullum, Memphis, Tennessee, and Ruby McGlory Eastman, Phoenix, Arizona; uncles, James Smith Jr., Detroit, Michigan, Willie (Grace) Haley, Cherokee, Alabama, and Clifton (Armetta) Haley, Memphis, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Monica (Djuan) Pope, Harvest, Alabama; brothers-in-law, Albert Robinson and Gregory Williams, both of Oakland, California; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, at First Seventh-Day Adventist Church (1303 Evangel Drive, Huntsville, Alabama) with Pastor Claudewell Campbell officiating. Interment will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens, Tuscumbia, Alabama. Mr. Haley will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time with Royal Funeral Home, Inc. of Huntsville, Alabama directing.
