HUNTSVILLE-The Huntsville Police Department released a statement regarding a drug bust made during a routine domestic call:

“Huntsville Police Department North Precinct Patrol Officers arrested 33 year old Julius Cortez Cawthorne of Huntsville following a domestic dispute call on May 3rd.

Cawthorne has been charged with Trafficking in Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana 1st degree, Possession of a Controlled Substance-Synthetic Drug, Receiving Stolen Property 3rd degree, and Domestic Violence Assault 3rd degree. Cawthorne is being held in the Madison County jail on $1,508,000 bond.
The arrest took place after officers responded to a domestic violence call in the 2400 block of Esther Avenue on May 3rd.drugs huntsville 2

Following a thorough investigation the officers found and confiscated 27.5 ounces of cocaine, 10 ounces of marijuana packaged for sale, 60 xanax bars, 3 hydrocodone pills, 2 handguns (1 stolen), and $2700 in cash in a shed behind the residence.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges could be filed.
