THE SHOALS-Save the date….the 11th Annual Shoals Earth Day Fest, Saturday, April 7, 2018, 11AM-6Pm will be held in historic Downtown Tuscumbia at the intersection in front of Coldwater Books.  In the event of rain the  location is the Roundhouse.

As a response to continued environmental degradation, Senator Gaylord Nelson proclaimed the first Earth Day on April 22, 1970. Communities around the nation and world have since used this occasion to promote environmental awareness and advocacy. For over 40 years, the Shoals has joined forces with others promoting eco-friendly practices. In April of 2008, Earth Month in the Shoals became an official community-wide, month-long celebration with events appealing to all ages and diverse groups.  As we celebrate Earth Day’s 47th anniversary, we can reflect on how far we have come and how important it is to continue to protect the Earth for our future generations.
