JoAnnJoAnn Mock, 48, passed away on Thursday, May 23 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Savannah, Ga., on October 5, 1964. At a young age her family moved to Decatur where she graduated from Austin High School. Eventually, her career brought her to Atlanta where she was employed for the last 15 years by RAM Partners as their system manager.

JoAnn, above all, enjoyed spending time with her loving son Ryan, 10, and her family. Experiencing new restaurants, travel and a penchant for acting were also some of her favorite past times. She was especially excited when she realized a lifelong dream and was able to take part in several productions that take place in Atlanta such as Unnecessary Roughness and Army Wives.

She is survived by her son, Ryan Boutcher; parents, Bobby Mock and Janie Smith of Decatur; sisters, Kay Stewart and Rhonda Tew (husband, Nick) of Tuscaloosa, Linda Walker of Pensacola, Fla., and Amy Mock of Decatur, as well as three nieces and a nephew.

A Memorial Service honoring JoAnn’s life will be held at Piedmont Church, 570 Piedmont Road, Marietta, Ga., on Sunday, June 2 at 1 p.m.

The family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
