James Earl “Pop” Beecham – Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. James Earl “Pop” Beecham, age 85, are scheduled for 2 PM, Thursday, April 11, 2013 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Gatlin officiating. Interment will follow in Center Hill Baptist Cemetery. Mr. Beecham passed away early Monday in Mississippi. He was born January 9, 1928 in Henderson County to the late Elbert and Florence Grissom Beecham. He had lived in Desoto County, Mississippi since 1979. He was a retired Truck Driver for Whitehead Oil and a member of Goodman Road Baptist Church. Mr. Beecham enjoyed fishing, basketball (Memphis Grizzlies), and loving on his grandkids. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Beecham, three brothers, Elgin, Pete, and Alton Beecham, and two sisters, Dorothy Sue Dyer and Artema Henderson. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mrs. Betty Jo Washburn Beecham of Horn Lake, MS, his daughter, Judy Murray (Joel) of Horn Lake, MS, a sister, Bobbie (Ron) Griffin, four grandchildren, Carissa (Chuck) Woods, Shawn (Ron) Barnett, Guy (Diane) Whitley, Jr., and Dustin (Abbey ) Beecham, nine great grandchildren, Jennifer (Andy) Arnett, MacKenzie Kortz, Lauren (Anthony) Campbell, Kristen (Daniel) Christian, Dominic Barnett, Tanner Barnett, Collin Whitley, Madeline Whitley, and Noah Beecham, and two great great grandchildren, Jackson Barnett and Jacob Christian.
