Garry Don Askew – Obituary

Garry Don Askew, born April 9, 1941, of Muscle Shoals, passed away April 4, 2013.

Visitation will be Saturday April 6, from 1-2 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel, with funeral services to begin at 2 p.m. in the chapel with burial to follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Officiating are Brother Tim Justice and Brother Norman Rich.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Thelma Askew; brothers, Montroy and Vernon Askew.

Survivors include his wife of 49 wonderful years, Genene Askew;

daughters, Regina Dennis (Steve), of Franklin, Tenn., and Betty Ann Crawford (Brad), of Muscle Shoals;

sisters, Betty Lundy, of Muscle Shoals, and JoAnn Hayes, of Cherokee;

the joy of his life, his grandchildren, Lindsey and Haley Dennis;

a host of loving nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends, which were all dear to Garry Don;

special friends, Mr .and Mrs. Norman Rich and Brother Tim and Leslie Justice.

Pallbearers are Larry Davis, Pete Morris, Norman Rich, Jackie Mann, Brad Crawford and Steve Dennis.

Mr. Askew was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, nursing homes and Bus Ministries for 30 plus years.

A special thanks to the full staff of North Alabama Cancer and Vicky, with the center, Dr. Webb and full staff of CCU unit at E.C.M., for all the love and care given to our dear loved one.
