Editor’s Note: The date for The Special Olympics has been adjusted a few times this year because of some cold weather. April 4th’s event has just been changed to April 9th. Here’s the original story (with the date corrected).
MUSCLE SHOALS – The Special Olympics has gotten off to a great start this year raising $14,000 through Cops and Cowboys a fund-raiser put on by area Police Officers and additional $14,000 raised by Texas Roadhouse. The Special Olympics Banquet was a big success . Even though the Shoals Area Special Olympics events had to be postponed until April 9, 2013 the events are going to be just as awesome as ever.
The events will take place at Muscle Shoals High School and will start at 9:00 AM with the parade of athletes, followed by the lighting of the torch. Please come out and support these amazing athletes.
