DHR_Photos_130321_IMG_9596Florence – Effective networking is the easiest, fastest and least expensive way to promote your business, and to make the strong connections necessary to outperform your competition. Though social media and electronic networking are viable resources, nothing can replace the benefits of face-to-face networking. That’s where Networking @ Noon comes in.

Whether structured or casual, the Chamber’s networking events always create ideal opportunities for members to meet other area business people and potential customers.  At networking events, Member businesses and their employees can create new relationships, build on current relationships and conduct business with fellow Chamber members.  And, as Shoals Chamber of Commerce President Steve Holt told the members present “This Networking at Noon is your license to give everyone you talk with one of your business cards.  You should seek out fellow Chamber members you’re not familiar with and engage them in conversation.”  Chamber members were encouraged to enhance their networking skills and be ready to give their 30-second elevator pitch to other members.

In addition to the Networking, the City of Florence’s Green Team Partnership Program introduced their program to the Shoals Chamber of Commerce Business Members.  The Green Team Partnership Program’s Mission Statement is “Green Team Partners practicing resource efficiency are assuming stewardship for the City of Florence, the Earth, and its resources, with goals of achieving a successful business operation, and sustenance of the environment and its inhabitants.  A Green Team Partner not only conserves resources but educates about resource conservation.”

Businesses that sign up take a pledge to be mindful of the environmental impacts and make green choices for the business or organization.  They also pledge to take water conservation, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and pollution prevention efforts into consideration in their decision making processes.  And lastly they pledge to promote the green initiative in their city and continue to grow green business practices.

After the program a lunch was served courtesy of Texas Roadhouse and networking continued.  We spoke with several members and all agreed that the event was a success and look forward to attending future events.
