Update – Florence City Council wants to sell property to Chinese Medicine developer

FLORENCE – When the votes were counted at this week’s Florence City Council meeting, it came to 6-zip in favor of selling the old Florence Country Club property to a Chinese businessman. The deal for the 158 prime acres is now in the hands of Guizhou Shenghi Group.

Florence has owned the land since 2009, when the property purchased from the defunct Florence Country Club, ostensibly for landfill expansion. When circumstances rendered such expansion un-doable, the City looked for other buyers.
