Robert “Bob” J. Beeson, 100, of Florence, AL passed away of natural causes in a nursing home on Saturday, March 10, 2023. Bob was born on February 23, 1923, to Leo and Cora Jones Beeson in Springfield, OH. After graduating from Bexley High School, he joined the U.S. Air Corps at the beginning of World War II. He served in Italy repairing bombsights on B-17s of the Swoose Squadron.

Upon returning home, he married Mary Eileen Fitch of Wooster, OH. He attended the Ohio State University department of Mechanical Engineering under the GI Bill. He then embarked on a prestigious, life-long career designing heavy machinery and filtration systems, receiving several patents in his name. He served as VP of Engineering for several companies.

In 2002, he lost Mary to cancer, and then married Nadean Pierce of Huntsville, AL., who died one year prior to Bob’s death. They were both very active members of Whitesburg Baptist Church in Huntsville.

On February 25, 2023 a large birthday party was held to celebrate his 100 years of life, which was attended by over 70 friends and relatives. Bob’s beaming smile reflected his joy at the event.

Robert Beeson is survived by his son, Charles Robert Beeson of Huntsville, AL; daughter, Cynthia Beeson Pierce and her husband, Timothy of Killen, AL; as well as, his grandchildren, Lyndsey Wilson, Lauren Lane and husband, Bucky, Joel Pierce and wife, Ana, Jackson Pierce and wife, Rebecca; and step grandchildren, David Pierce and wife, Margret and Betsy Hieronymi and husband, Brent.

Bob was buried in Scottsboro, AL with a graveside service attended by close family and friends.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers that donations can be made in his name to Aligning Destiny International, P.O. Box 337, Killen, AL 35645.
