Howard Lee “Cotton” Dutton, 84, of Moulton, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, March 13, 2023 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Bro. Chris Godbee officiating. Burial will be at Fergason Cemetery.
Born on July 21, 1938 to the late Thomas and Jimmie Norton Dutton, Cotton was an award winning Certified Ford Mechanic for 51 years and a Mason. He attended Smyrna Baptist Church, enjoyed deer hunting and spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren and great granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife Sharlene of nearly 61 years; son, Jamie (Noelle) Dutton; grandchildren, Logan (Jessica) Hand, Brianna (Patrick) Jackson; great-granddaughter, Ryan Hope Hand; sister, Wonnie Martin; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Cotton was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Denise Hand.
Pallbearers will be Logan Hand, Patrick Jackson, Gary Dutton, Jeremy Hancock, Steve Martin, and Kevin Martin.
The family extends special thanks to Amedisys Hospice and the numerous neighbors, friends and family that called and visited.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital.
