Carol Thomas Carnathan  Linda Carol Thomas Carnathan, 66, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN, after a lengthy illness. She was born January 13, 1957, to Charlie Martin and Geneva Marcell Webb Thomas. She was as member of the New Beginnings Baptist Church (formerly Norris Chapel). She was a home healthcare nurse and she worked at the Northeast MS Daily Journal taking obituaries. She also worked at the Census Bureau for many years. She loved watching NASCAR, and her favorite driver was Martin Truex, Jr. She enjoyed her roses, going to the Smokey Mountains, and her church family.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Michael Taylor and Bro. Blake Buchanan officiating. Burial will be in the Keyes Cemetery.

Survivors include her mother, Marcell Thomas of Mantachie; one son, Jimmy Plaxico (Brandi) of Tupelo; two daughters, Serena Wilson (Shane) of Mantachie, and Brandy Auret (Justin) of Memphis, TN; two brothers, David Ray Thomas (Barbara) of Tremont and Jamie Thomas of Dorsey; nine grandchildren, Samantha Hall (Josh), Shanna Wagster (Drew), Stephanie Cook (Seth), Shayla Wilson, Wade Williams (Gracie), Rusty Plaxico, Skyler Plaxico, Tanner Plaxico, and Carter Murphy; seven great grandchildren, Brooklyn Davis, Khloe Hall, Charli Hall, Bristol Wagster, Bryson Wagster, Asher Cook, Levi Cook.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Carnathan; one sister, Judy McGhee; one great grandchild, Zoey Hall; her father; and her best friend, Marilyn Dickerson.

Pallbearers wil be Seth Cook, Josh Hall, Drew Wagster, Rusty Plaxico, Skyler Plaxico, Wade Williams, and Carter Murphy.

Honorary pallbearers will be her church family.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m., and on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
