Passed away March 1, 2023 at 12:00 pm in his home with family and friends. Billy battled many years with severe illness. He was born March 19. 1937, in Winnsboro, Texas to Lilon and Dovie Holder.

Billy is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley Ann Holder,his sister-in-law, Sue Putz of Tyler, Texas, 15 nieces and nephews, and many close friends.

He graduated from Winnsboro High School in 1955 and Tyler Commerical College in 1956. He was proud to serve 2 years in the U.S. Army at Fort Hood, Texas and Germany.  He was a route salesman for Borden Milk Company in Tyler, Texas and became Route Manager and Plant Manager.  He and his wife Shirley were transferred to Huntsville, AL in 1992, where he was the plant manager at Meadow Gold Diary.  He retired in 1994 after 39 years with Borden’s.  He was a super salesman, never met a stranger, and always greeted everyone with a smile.

He was a Mason and a member of the Whitesburg Baptist Church.  He and Shirley enjoyed retirement, traveling, golfing, and fishing.  He won many trophies and has an 8 lb Bass mounted on the wall.

Bill will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lilon and Dovie Holder; sister, Lila Sims; brothers, Joe Bob Holder, WC Holder, and Cyril Holder.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Burial will be at Harmony Cemetery, Winnsboro, Texas.
