Rose Ellen Jones, age 85, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013. Visitation will be Saturday, 1-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Tom Whatley officiating. Entombment will be in Shoals Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Jones; parents, George and Annie Henry; brothers, Edward Henry, Baby Henry, Marvin Henry, and George Ralph Henry; and sisters, Roberta McKee and Lucy Henry; and son-in law, Edward Wells.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy McCollum (Danny) and Mary Ellen Wells; grandchildren, Justen McCollum and his fiancé, Lisa, and Sarah Osborn (Matt), a number of nieces and nephews, and special friend, Jewel Trotter.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, nephews, and great-nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Darin Bowling for his care of their mother. They would also like to send a special thank you to all of the staff at The Cottage of the Shoals for their loving care of their mother.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.
