Rassey Sever Cooper, Jr. Rassey Sever Cooper, Jr., age 74, of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Russellville Hospital.

Rassey was born June 17, 1948, in Aberdeen, Mississippi.  He worked and retired from Winston Furniture after 37 years.  He was a devoted member and deacon of Gray Rock Church.  He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time outdoors with his family.  He was a volunteer with the East Franklin Fire Department and spent a lot of time working at the fire department until health prevented him.  He leaves many wonderful memories for his friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rassey Sever & Mattie Lou (Pierce) Cooper, siblings, Teen Davis, Ann Ellis, Robert Earl Cooper, and Tommy Cooper.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 56 years, Mary Ann Cooper; children, Rassey S. Cooper, III (wife, Karen), Teresa Casas (husband, Eddie); grandchildren, Corey Casas (Marilyn), Justin Casas (Ashley), Austin Casas (Amber), Johnathan Casas, Jan Patrick (Paul), Carrie Borden (Jeremy), Troy Helton (Erica), RJ Cooper, Perry Woodard (Sara); great-grandchildren, Hope, Hunter, Auburn, Mary, Lexie, Kayden, Mason, Salem, Eathan, Maeley, Madison, Shyanne, Tylar, Sam, Kristein, Evie, Riley; and a host of nieces & nephews.

The visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Gray Rock FCM Church, (3438 Cr 40, Phil Campbell) with the funeral following at 2:00 p.m.  Bro. William Borden will officiate the service, and burial will be in the adjourning cemetery.

The pallbearers will be Justin Casas, Corey Casas, Bailey Casas, Austin Casas, Eddie Casas, RJ Cooper, Perry Woodard, and Jeremy Borden.  The honorary pallbearers will be Mason, Hunter, Kayden, and Ethan.
