Tino Reyes, 80, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Tishomingo Community Living Center. Mr. Reyes was born in Edinburg, TX, and was of the Catholic faith. He attended the University of Texas Pan-American and earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and physical education. He was employed with the Texas Department of Corrections for 25 years. Tino was an avid runner and golfer who loved animals. He also was a huge Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros fan. He is survived by his wife, Carol Reyes; three sons, Mark Stricklen (Teresa), Dale Stricklen, and Jeffrey Stricklen; two brothers, Leo Reyes and Ruben Reyes (Marcelia); three sisters, Belia De Los Santos, Linda De La Fuente and Gloria Cordonier; a nephew, Dr. Mike Gorena (Dr. Maria Gorena); and numerous other nieces, nephews, and family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Taurino and Carmen Ibanez Reyes; 2 sisters, Irma Gorena and Estella Rendon; and one brother, Carlos Reyes.
