Sylvia Beckman Ikard, 86, of Florence, passed away January 29, 2023. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, founding member of Quad Cities Choral Directors Association, Music Educators National Conference, Alabama Music Educators Association, and the American Choral Directors Association. Mrs. Ikard was a graduate of Coffee High School and Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and she had a degree in Music Education. She was a School Teacher and a Choral Director at Waterloo and Sheffield High Schools.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 10-11 a.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Mrs. Ikard was preceded in death by her parents, John and Leona Beckman; spouse, Curtis Ikard, and brother, Richard Beckman.
She is survived by her nephews, John (Susan), Jerome (Angie), and Jason (Christina) Beckman; great nephews, Justin (Mercedes), Jonathan (Holly), Caleb and Logan Beckman; great nieces, Conner Webster (Brett), and Josie Beckman; 6 great-great nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Pat Beckman Wisdom (David), and Shirley Cohen; nephews-in-law, Rusty Fuller, and Randy (Candy) Fuller; and great niece-in-law, Chelsea Brown.
