Jeremey Coronado Smith
October 24, 2004 – January 27, 2023
Jeremey passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 27th, at his home in Huntsville, AL. He was born October 24, 2004, to parents that adored, cherished, and spoiled him any chance they got. He was a sweet tempered baby and grew into a delightful little boy who enthusiastically loved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, and Legos. As a little boy, he was curious and joyful and loved playing with his cousin and best friend while acting out their favorite cartoon characters. He was always up for tagging along for whatever adventure, mundane or not, that his dad would get them into. A trip to the toy store for the latest action figure, boogey boarding at the beach, or simply watching cartoons; they were truly two peas in a pod. Sadly, at age 11, tragedy struck his family when his dad, Christian, unexpectedly passed away. Jeremey coped with this tragedy with grace and humor and was a true inspiration of resilience to all that knew him. He grew into a young man with an immense amount of compassion and empathy for others and an appreciation for living in the moment and enjoying life to its fullest. As all teenagers do, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and begrudgingly tolerated spending time with his family. He had a tremendous work ethic and a strong sense of independence and was determined to make his own way in the world. His willingness to jump out into an unknown and scary world and trust his own determination and self-reliance was the truest demonstration of his confidence and courage.
We are so proud of the man that Jeremey was becoming. We are truly heartbroken at the loss of such a beautiful soul but we are comforted in knowing that Jeremey is now reunited with his dad and that they are on another adventure together.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 11th, at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 8020 Whitesburg Drive, Huntsville, AL with a reception and visitation following the service (approximately 3:00 p.m.). Interment will be in held in a private service later.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you hug your loved ones. Tell them you love them and are proud of the people that they are becoming. And take them on an adventure, mundane or not.
