Rella Mae Roberson Martin of Waynesboro, TN Rella Mae Roberson Martin was born August 14, 1938 in Iron City, TN the daughter of the late Thomas Allen and Frankie Gladys Sledge Roberson. She was united in marriage to her late husband and father of her children, Robert S. “Bobby” Irwin on December 21, 1954 and he preceded her in death on December 31, 1962. She then was united in marriage to Everett Martin on August 29, 1986, who also preceded her in death on December 15, 2003. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, that enjoyed spending time with her family. Rella worked for many years at Murray Ohio Manufacturing Company, where she retired as a spot welder. She departed this life on January 27, 2023 in Waynesboro, TN at the age of 84 years, 5 months, and 13 days.

She is survived by her daughters, Mona Bradley of Lawrenceburg, TN, Lisa Garrison of Waynesboro, TN, and Tammy Ayers of Summertown, TN; a brother, Sterling Roberson of Iron City, TN; grandchildren, Brandon Bradley, Bronson Bradley, Brittania Bradley, Natasha Moser, John Jones, Jyl Mattox, and Tiffany Davis; 22 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands and parents, Rella was preceded in death by a son, Robert A. Irwin; a daughter, Gina Harper; brothers, T.A. Roberson, Elvis Roberson, Bobby Lee Roberson, and Terry Roberson; and sisters, Lavaughn Gallien, and Fay Pruitt.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2023 from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN, with Bronson Bradley and Dwayne “Dee” Staggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens at Waynesboro, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
