Sarah MaryAnn Holland, 98, passed away Friday, January 27, 2023 at her residence.  She was born in Colquet, Minnesota to Joseph Daniel and Elsie Catharine Kaae McDonald.  She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for over 30 years and loved to sew and make quilts to give to family and friends.  During World War II, she was a Rosie the Riveter.

Funeral services will be Sunday, January 29, 3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Caleb Waycaster officiating.  Burial will be Ebenezer Cemetery.  Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by two children, Doris McCarley and Donna Norris; eight grandchildren, Brandon Holland (Carolyna), Kevin Spencer (Christi), Brent McCarley, Mark McCarley (Vickie), Jason McCarley (Christy), Shaunna Self (Sharmon), Dean Scott (Tammi) and Rodney Scott (Beth); twenty great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Macy, Stacy, Brandy, Ashleigh, Kayla, Gage, Maranda, Badon, Braylen, Anthony, Megean, Bailey, Brady, Alexia, Cordell, William, Lauren, Gracie and Nathan; ten great-great grandchildren, Cheyane, Rafe, Lilly, Mandi, Aidan, Braxton, Everleigh, Emersyn, Memphis and Jaylei and one brother, Pat McDonald.

She was preceded by son, Wayne Holland; grandson, Keith Spencer; great-granddaughter, Marlee Thompson; son-in-law, Raymond McCarley; siblings, Johnny McDonald, Catherine Woolever, Marcella McDonald, Ethel McDonald, Charlotte McDonald, Daniel McDonald and Robert McDonald.

Pallbearers will be Mark McCarley, Jason McCarley, Kevin Spencer, Sharmon Self, Robert Holland and Jeff Fowler.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 29, 1-3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
