James Edward Glasgow James Edward Glasgow, age 78, of Phil Campbell, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at his residence.

James worked as a supervisor at Celotex and St. Gobain for 27 years. He was a hard worker, always doing something.  His favorite hobby was wood working which he excelled at, loved to grill, and loved Alabama football.  He was a great caretaker to his wife and family, and loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Glasgow Elliott; granddaughter, Nakita Malone; parents, Audie & Addie (Cummings) Glasgow; brothers, Arlon Glasgow, Claude Glasgow, and Bob Glasgow.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Jimmy Glasgow, Tommy Glasgow, Rosa Glasgow Smith; grandchildren, Tyler Glasgow, Ashley Glasgow, Corey Glasgow, Matthew Lawler, Elijah Smith, Jeremiah Smith, Pace Glasgow; a host of great-grandchildren; siblings, Annie Mae White, Mary Matthews, Johnny Glasgow (Shirley); and a host of nieces & nephews.

The visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the service following at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel.  Sister Carolyn Baker will officiate the service.  Burial will be at Blue Springs Cemetery.

The pallbearers will be Elijah Smith, Jeremiah Smith, Pace Glasgow, Matthew Lawler, Cade Glasgow, Corey Glasgow, Tyler Glasgow, Dan Glasgow, and Austin Elliott.

The family asks that if you are gifting them a flower or plant, to please consider the gift of windchimes.  This will allow the family to hear the chimes and always know that James is close by to them.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Wanda, Nicole, and the staff of Enhabit Hospice for your love and care of our family during this time.
