Kenneth Wayne Bahr Kenneth Wayne Bahr passed away on January 14, 2023, in Athens, Alabama at the age of 89. Ken was born on the family farm in Eldora, Iowa the beloved only son of Kathleen and Harley Bahr. Ken left Iowa to attend school in Chicago, subsequently joined the Army, and eventually went to work in Huntsville where he met his wife, and eventually lived and raised their family with strong Christian values before moving to Athens after a 35 year career with MICOM. He was a church deacon in the Baptist church and a role model for both his family and those who knew him. He remained independent and in charge of his life until the end.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Yarbrough Bahr, and his parents Kathleen Sheldon Bahr and Harley J. Bahr.

Ken is survived by his children, Curtis (Patricia) Bahr and Rhonda (Mike) Machnica; and his grandchildren, Nora (Lee) Isham, Mallory (Andrade) Azevedo, Kenny Bahr, Tyler (Harlee) Machnica, Hunter (Michelle) Machnica, and Robert Bahr.

Visitation will be held at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Alabama on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM with a Chapel Service scheduled to begin immediately afterwards starting at 2:30 PM with Bro. Will Faulkenberry officiating.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Bahr, Tyler Machnica, Hunter Machnica, Lee Isham, Tommy “Lil Tom” Sisk, and Andrade Azevedo. Honorary pallbearers include Robert Bahr.
