Mrs. Wilma Howard “God is within her, she will not fail”, Psalms 46:5 A fitting Bible verse for Mrs. Wilma Katherine Howard who died at her residence Friday, January 6th in the Reagan community at the age of 82. Described as selfless, a Christian lady who sought strength through prayer each day she will be deeply missed by her family that she loved.

Mrs. Howard was born October 13, 1940 in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee to the late Harvey Leslie and Maggie Lee Patterson Poag. She spent many of her years in Chicago where she was a line supervisor in manufacturing and later retired after working with UPS for six to eight years. Mrs. Howard moved to the Henderson County in 2006. For friends who met her, they would say she had a warmth about her and would always leave her mark on you.

Survivors include her daughters: Rachel (Wesley) Rushing and Gwendolyn (Jimmie) Jimenez and a son, Kenneth E. Howard; her two sisters: Patricia Louise Terry and Rose Marie Smith, eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Preceding Mrs. Howard in death was her husband Kenneth Howard and a son, Roger Howard.
