Charlene “Sis” Mooneyham Hopkins

Mrs. Charlene “Sis” Mooneyham Hopkins, age 63, passed away from an extended illness Saturday January 7, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was a Van Buren County native born on November 29, 1959 to the late Hezzie and Clata Ray Sullivan Mooneyham.

Charlene enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with her family and friends. She was formerly employed at Dometic Marine in Sparta and was a factory worker for several years at other locations. She will be sadly missed by all her family, especially her five brothers who made her “tough” while growing up. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Hezzie Herman Mooneyham.

Charlene is survived by her husband of forty-six years Jimmy Earl “Hoppy” Hopkins of Spencer, son; Jimmy Earl (Jr) Hopkins of Spencer, granddaughter; Abby Mills of Spencer, brothers; Howard (Pam) Mooneyham of Crossville, Jerry Mooneyham of McMinnville, R. J. (Maxine) Mooneyham of Sparta, Bethel (Peggy) Mooneyham of Spencer and Johnny (Debbie) Mooneyham of Spencer. Many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday January 10, 2023 at 1:00pm in the Layne Chapel with Bro. Wayne Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencer Town Cemetery. Visitation times are Monday 3:00pm to 9:00pm and Tuesday 9:00am till time of service at 1:00pm.
