Ina Rose Thomas Strachan, 87, passed away Monday, December 19, 2022 at her son’s residence. She was born in Red Bay, AL to Cliff and Opal Thornton Thomas. She worked as a waitress for 50 years.
There will be no public funeral service. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL assisted the family.
She is survived by her son, Marvin Carlton (Celia); two sisters, Brenda Elliott (Jack) and Corese Pardue; grandchildren, Michael Timms, Mark Carlton and Kimberly English; great-grandchildren, Skylar and Evan Timms, Sophia Hollander and Mackinzie English and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mike Timms; daughter, Kathy English; grandson, Marvin Carlton, II; sisters, Bernice Puckett and Maxine Long and brothers, W.C. Thomas and Floyd Thomas.
ERNESTINE PARRISH
RED BAY, AL – Ernestine Parrish, 88, died Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Huntsville Hospital. She was born in Atwood, AL to Earshel and Emma Herring Childers. She worked at Lance Garment for many years and was a member of Red Bay Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 20, 1:00 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Steve Lindsay officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by one son, David Parrish (Rita); two daughters, Sandra Parrish and Beth Parrish; grandchildren, Joshua Parrish, Jason Mitchell (Keitha), Jonathan Pharr (Lacey) and Chase Pharr (Baylee) and great-grandchildren, Lydia Pharr, Cutler Pharr, Turner Pharr and Emery Pharr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gillie Parrish; her parents; her son, Greg Parrish; her grandson, Zachary Parrish; daughter-in-law, Susan Parrish and one brother, Arnold Childers.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 20, 11-1 at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
