Angela Thorne RodriquezAngela Thorne Rodriquez passed away on November 15, 2022 in Iuka, MS. She was born to Roscoe and Eva Wingo Thorne on February 4, 1939. Cutshall Funeral Home was entrusted with her cremation. She was a Registered Nurse at NEMCC and she completed her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Minnesota. Also she received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She led a diverse career with nursing in hospitals, nursing homes, prisons, home health, and hospice. Five years of her career were spent living and working on Navajo and Apache Indian Reservations in Arizona. She was also a member of the Eastern Star for 50 plus years. After retiring, she moved from Arizona back to the homeplace in Iuka, MS. She enjoyed traveling and going for rides with her sister in the spring to see the beautiful scenery in MS and AL, especially the Natchez Trace and in the fall she oved seeing the beautiful hills of TN, and the amazing colors of nature. She also loved going to Florida and she finally got to complete something on her bucket list which was riding in an airboat and holding a baby alligator. She spent several years of her life writing poems and stories, and with the help of her sister and a generous publishing company, another bucket list was accomplished as her book was completed and called “Mirror Image”. She loved her family and friends and wanted them to have this book as a legacy/memory of her. Angela is survived by her daughter; a son; three granddaughters; one grandson; six great-grandchildren; a sister; and several cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a nephew; and her longtime male companion. All that knew Angela would say that she loved her life and she lived it to the fullest. Her motto was “I hope you dance” and “dance” she did. An online guestbook may be accessed at www.cutshallfuneralhome.com.
